Marshell Glenn
Bradley
Mar 9, 1940 — Dec 8, 2024
Marshell Glenn Bradley, a beloved resident of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on March 9, 1940, in Carroll County, to the late Earmer Bradley and Viola Duke Bradley.
Marshell dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career at the University of West Georgia, where he made meaningful contributions and formed lasting relationships with his colleagues. A devoted member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, he actively participated in church activities and cherished the sense of community it provided.
Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Marshell had a passion for agriculture, particularly in his enjoyment of picking cotton, a skill he valued and took pride in. He was known for his distinctive sense of humor; whenever asked about his well-being, he would respond with his signature phrase, "fine as frog hair," which brought smiles to everyone around him.
Marshell was a devoted husband, a nurturing father, and a doting grandfather. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he made a lasting impact on their lives. His warm spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will leave a significant void, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Craven Bradley; brothers, Roy Bradley, Curtis Bradley, Harold Bradley, Emmett Bradley, and Howard Bradley; and sisters, Idora Moore, Mildred Frost, and Wilma Kent.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Doris Wilson Bradley; daughters & sons-in-law, Donna & Kenneth Morgan, Dana & Mike Gaines, and Dawn & Ricky West; step-children, Barry & Shelia Songer and Keisha & David Moore; brothers, Roger Bradley and Wayman Bradley; sister Margret Moore; grandchildren, Chad Hammonds, Tyler Truett, Bradley Simpson, Dillon West, Dustin Simpson, Canon West, and Noah Simpson; nine great-grandchildren; 13 nieces; and 11 nephews.
A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Marshell's life on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Matt Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Tyler Truett, Bradley Simpson, Dillon West, Dustin Simpson, Canon West, and Noah Simpson serving as pallbearers.
