Melinda Jean Hooks Floyd, age 59, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 9, 1967, daughter of the late Leonard A Hooks and the late Alicia Marie Hooks.

She is survived by her husband: Jeffrey James Floyd; children: Joshua Eason (Lauren), Brett Eason (Michelle Hulsey), Danielle Eason (Wesley Tucker), Justin Floyd (Brittney), Jacob Floyd (Megan); grand-children: Sophie Tucker, Kaden Eason, Zayne Eason, Kaeleigh Eason, Kendall Floyd, Sophie Floyd, Jesse Floyd, Jaxon Floyd; sisters: Mary Mayberry, Kimberly Spray (Jr); brother: James Gitzen, Jr.

The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Brian Welton, Mary Mayberry, Morgan Lynch and Joshua Eason speaking.
