Mrs. Melinda Gail Underwood, age 50, of Bremen, Georgia, passed away at a local healthcare facility on June 13, 2026.

Born on September 5, 1975, in Columbus, Georgia, Melinda was the daughter of the late Larry Joe Underwood and Elizabeth Gail Daniel Underwood. She lived a full life surrounded by the love of her family and friends and brought joy to those around her through her warm spirit.

Melinda graduated from Haralson County High School in 1997 and was a proud participant in the Special Olympics. Following high school, she worked for several years at the Haralson Progressive Center in Bremen, where she enjoyed the friendships and experiences she made along the way.

Melinda found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved having her hair and nails done, attending family gatherings, checking the mail each day, completing word searches, and putting together puzzles, a task at which she was especially talented. She treasured time spent with her family and had several memorable phrases that those who loved her will never forget. Among them were, "That's okay," "Fine with me," and "Hey, hey, easy now." These familiar words will forever bring smiles and cherished memories to those who knew her best.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marty Duane Underwood.

She is survived by her brothers, Randy Underwood (Beth), Brian Underwood (Ann), and Danny Underwood (Susie); her nieces and nephews, Megan Malone (Zach), Ryan Underwood (Brandi), Briana Golden (Brian), Blake Underwood, and Maya Underwood; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; a number of aunts and uncles; cousins; and many other extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory forever.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, from 12:00 noon until the service hour at Hightower Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Dr. Corky Addison and Brother David Finley officiating.

Ryan Underwood, Zach Malone, Blake Underwood, Mike Crews, and David Finley will serve as pallbearers.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, and special memories Melinda shared with others will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
