Melisa Rena Daniell Holdbrooks, age 60, of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1965, daughter of Edna Ruth "Connell" Tapp and the late James David Daniell. Melisa was a 1983 graduate of Haralson County High School and later employed by Haralson County High School as the cosmetology teacher/CTAE department chair. She was a member of Mt. Zion East Baptist Church.

Melisa is survived by her husband, Randy Holdbrooks; children, Cathie Lambert of Rockmart, Christopher Brannon (Jaimie) of Rockmart, Josh Holdbrooks (Meagan) of Tallapoosa, Justin Holdbrooks (Crystal) of Tallapoosa, Jacob Holdbrooks (Whitney) of Tallapoosa; and grandchildren, Jace Lambert, Jaxon Lambert, Chloe Brannon, Claire Brannon, Canaan Holdbrooks, Cohen Holdbrooks, Hudson Holdbrooks, Hanson Holdbrooks, and Piper Holdbrooks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Hightower Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Teal officiating. Joseph Thompson, Josh West, Christopher Stanford, Edd Saxon, Zac Bacon and Chris Bacon will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery.
