Michael
Gee
Jul 8, 1990 — May 29, 2026
Michael Gee fought his last Counterstrike battle on May 29, 2026. Michael died from complications of living life on his own damn terms. Though his life was far too short, he lived it fully, passionately, and unapologetically. Michael was known for his fighting spirit, his strong intellect, his wicked sense of humor, his use of colorful language, and his deep loyalty to the people whom he loved. Born on July 8, 1990, Michael approached life with intensity. He loved fiercely, laughed loudly and often inappropriately, and rarely did anything halfway. He was adventurous, stubborn, endlessly curious about the things that interested him, loved video gaming, often playing for days, and forged his own path, sometimes to his own detriment. Michael only wanted to go where he wanted to go, and always with his dog, Chopper by his side, whether pets were allowed or not.
At 18 years old, Michael volunteered to serve in the United States Army. Michael was the Second Commandant from his basic training at Fort Knox. He spent four years proudly serving with the Fusion Company, 2-503 Battalion of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, stationed in Vicenza, Italy. During his service, he completed a one-year tour in Afghanistan. As the youngest member of his platoon, Michael was known to volunteer for some of the most difficult and dangerous assignments, serving as both a gunner and a point man. He was proud of his service and loved his fellow soldiers. Michael received an Honorable Discharge and was a decorated combat veteran. The experiences of war left battle scars that he carried throughout his life. In honor of Michael, his family requests that you extend your love, gratitude, respect, and compassion to the veterans in your own life.
Like many veterans, Michael faced difficulties long after returning home. His journey involved setbacks and was not always an easy or a storybook one, but he did rally for a better future. Through Veterans Court in Carroll County, he worked to rebuild and move forward, taking pride in every milestone he achieved. He shared the certificates of level advancements with family and friends, celebrating each step of his progress. Michael found support in Vet Court from his judge, his fellow veterans, and especially the coordinator, Brittney, who helped guide him through some of his most difficult moments. Michael and his family are greatly appreciative of this support. His family encourages veterans facing similar situations with the judicial system to explore the structured guidance, behavioral support, and fellowship offered through Veterans Court programs.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents, Carl and Awana Adams, affectionately known as Rocky and Nana; his paternal grandparents, Pat and Hugh Robinson, known as Nana Pat and Papa Hugh; and Charlie Gee, known as Grandpa Charlie. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Doomsday, who is undoubtedly giving him an uncontrollable, enthusiastic welcome on the other side.
Michael is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Guinevere and Evelyn Gee; his mother, Carol Adams Wells and stepfather Steve Wells; his father, Charles "Chuck" Gee; his sister, Bailey Matilda Gee Valverde and brother-in-law, Alfredo Valverde; his aunt and uncle, Susan and Fred Adams; numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends; and his loyal companion, Chopper, who misses his bonded human dearly.
Michael will be remembered for his courage, his humor, his loyalty, and his ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was far from perfect, but he was authentically and unapologetically himself. Friends and family will find it difficult to forget his antics, the stories, the laughter, the adventures, the video game playing, the sadness, and the fierce spirit and complexities that defined Michael Gee. Michael was truly a force. Behind all his bravery, strength, and craziness was a genuinely kind and loving person. Michael would help others before he would help himself.
Michael will be remembered at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home in Carrollton on Friday, June 5, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 P.M. Friends and family are welcome to attend and are invited to share stories and memories that capture the unique spirit of Michael. Bill Tidwell will officiate. Please, in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Humane Society or a Veteran's Support Program.
