Michelle Hegwood, age 56, of Muscadine, Alabama, passed away on March 25, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Columbus, Georgia, on April 15, 1968, the daughter of the late Bill Benton and Clovis Clara Dukes Benton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Stacy Brooks; a brother, Daniel Watts; and a grandson, Joseph Wheeler.

Survivors include her husband, John Hegwood; her children, Lee Wheeler (Carley), Steven Wheeler, and Alex Wheeler, all of Muscadine; a sister, Phyllis Perry of Muscadine; a brother, Derek Benton of Tallapoosa; and four grandchildren, Jayden Wheeler, Gabriel Neel, Izabella Wheeler, and Kinsleigh Wheeler.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home, with Rev. Curtis Holloway officiating.
