Miriam Lanette Newbern McCain of Newnan passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 in a local health care facility. She was born in Haralson County, August 30,1926, daughter of the late Arch Newbern and Clara Posey Newbern. For thirty years, she was the owner and director of the Country Day Child Development Center and was a member of the Poseyville United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shine (D. F.) McCain; a sister, Margaret Mitchell and a brother, Waldo Newbern. Survivors include daughters, Valerie and Clark Campbell of Newnan, Lynn and Ronnie Ford of Newnan; grandchildren, James and Inga Hurtt of San Tan Valley, AZ, Hiram and Sarah Hurtt of Newnan, Harrison Ford of Newnan and a great grandchild to be born in October. A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, Gaye Buttrey, Donna Duke and her personal caregiver, Antonia Green. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Services will be Tuesday, June 14 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Duane McManus officiating. Hiram Hurtt, Clark Campbell, Harrison Ford, Gary Mitchell, James W.
