Mr. Paul James Gripado, age 92, of Douglasville, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019. He was born in Coalton, Oklahoma, on March 16, 1926, the son of the late Carlos and Jewel Simmons Gripado. Paul was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a Catholic by faith.  Paul and his wife, Virginia, owned and operated Georgia Vault Company until 1997. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Betty Garbe, Frances Ferderer, Bernice Parker, Jim Gripado, Joe Gripado and Frank Gripado. Paul is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia Cosper Gripado of Douglasville; stepson: Ricky Gray and his wife, Kimberly of Douglasville; brothers and sisters-in-law: Carlos and Adrien Gripado of Claremore, OK, and Harry and Letty Gripado of Marion, WI; grandchildren: Johnathan Bright, Kelly Gray, Savanna Keller, and Meagan Anderson; one great-granddaughter: Aaliyah Gray; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Thelma Gripado, Lela Gripado, Frances Spates, Betty Joy, Benny Cosper, and Tilmon Cosper; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 8, 2019, from 4:00-6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 11:00 am at Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jim Grieme officiating.  The Eulogy will be delivered by Reverend Marcus Miller. Interment will follow in Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs with Johnny Ferderer, Ronny Buttrum, Johnathan Bright, John Gripado, Mitch Bennet, and Stacy Lawson serving as Pallbearers.  Kelly Gray and Savanna Keller will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
