Rev. P. W. Prater of Waco, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 in a local hospital. He was born in Carroll County, March 24, 1924, son of the late George Prater and Maudie Ayers Prater. Mr. Prater was a retired Baptist Minister and a member of the Five Points Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jerlean Robinson Prater; brothers, Henry Prater, Lawrence Prater and R.L. Prater. Survivors include children, Opal and Donny Newman of Waco, Marti Mitchell of Bremen, Roger Prater of Concord, Patsy and Terry Cohen, Tampa, FL, Tim and Melody Prater, Waco; fifteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, nine great, great grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Abercrombie, Waco and a brother, James and Sue Prater of Waco. Memorial services will be Tuesday, September 2 at 11:00 AM from the Five Points Baptist Church with Angie Sullivan speaking.
