Rev. Steve E. Lane
White
Jun 11, 1948 — Jun 17, 2026
On June 17, 2026, Rev. Steve E. Lane White's faith became sight as he peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior at the age of 78. While his family and friends grieve his passing, they find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is now rejoicing in the eternal promises he faithfully proclaimed throughout his life.
Born on June 11, 1948, in Lineville, Alabama, Steve was the son of the late Ben White and Hazel Taylor White. He was raised in the Lineville community and went on to earn a business degree before beginning a distinguished career with Southwire Company. Steve faithfully served Southwire for 45 years as a supervisor, retiring in 2010. Throughout his career, he was respected for his leadership, integrity, and service, including his role as a first responder spokesperson.
More important than any professional accomplishment was Steve's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He faithfully served the Lord for many years through his involvement in the local church. A devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, he taught Sunday School, participated in the church bus ministry, and invested countless hours sharing God's love with others. He also answered the call to preach and faithfully pastored Christiana Baptist Church in Lineville, Alabama, for more than twenty-five years, touching countless lives through his ministry, compassion, and dedication to God's Word.
Steve will be remembered for his sweet spirit, kind heart, and loving nature. Even during his final days, he continued to demonstrate grace, gentleness, and a deep concern for those around him. He loved his family dearly and leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and steadfast devotion to the Lord.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Judy Robertson White; his children, Jason White and wife Pam, and Melissa Sensenig and husband Joe; his granddaughter, Maggie Elizabeth Sensenig; his sisters, Genetta Davis and Wanda Deese; his brother, Benny White; and numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed by his life and ministry.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Dr. John Pennington and Pastor Anthony Puckett officiating. Steve's son and daughter will share a eulogy in honor of their father, and music will be rendered by his beloved granddaughter.
A private interment will take place in the Christiana Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jason White, Joe Sensenig, Griffin Rowell, Ricky Wortham, Andrew Hughes, Derrick Rice, Philip Graben, and Ankhor Hughes.
Though Steve's earthly journey has ended, the testimony of his life remains. He lived to point others to Christ, and today the faith he preached, taught, and cherished has become sight.
