Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Monroe Walton, age 71, of Bremen, Georgia, who passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026.

Born on October 11, 1954, Richard lived life with a spirit of adventure and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before becoming a self-employed businessman. His work selling tropical fish and aquarium equipment grew naturally from one of his greatest passions, being in and around the water. An avid diver, Richard found peace and excitement beneath the surface, and many of his favorite memories were made exploring the underwater world.

Richard found happiness wherever he could be outside. Whether he was fishing, hunting, mowing the grass, or simply enjoying nature, he felt most at home outdoors. He also loved live music, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.

Of all the things Richard loved, nothing meant more to him than his family. He was a proud father to his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Anna Walton, and a devoted grandfather to Keegan and Lucille. They brought him immense joy, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon Walton and Mildred Golden Walton, and his sister, Patricia Walton Sobera.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor Richard's life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM in the evening at Cornerstone Baptist Church 1450 S.W. Broadview Street Port St. Lucie, Florida 34983 with Pastor Ethan Jones officiating.

Richard will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of the water, his appreciation for the outdoors, and his deep love for his family. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
