Miss Rita Gail Criswell age 50, of Farmington Trace, Carrollton, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010. Rita was born March 28, 1960 in Carrollton, Ga. to Sybil Blackwelder Criswell and the late Albert R. Criswell. She was an 18 year educator currently working with the Burwell Program. She received her undergraduate degree from West Georgia College and her six year education degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Rita was baptized by Rev. Jim Callahan at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include her mother Sybil Blackwelder Criswell, brothers and sister in law Tim and Dawn Criswell and Cris Criswell, nephews Riley Criswell, Cooper Criswell and Kirby Criswell all of Carrollton. In accordance with her wishes the body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:00PM from the Carrollton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Dean Milford officiating with eulogy by Mr. Don Kaylor. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either to the Burwell Program, 423 Alabama Street, Carrollton, Ga. 30117 or the Carroll County Humane Society, Spay and Neuter Clinic, 525 Montgomery Street, Suite B, Villa Rica, Ga 30180.
