Robert James Nyman, age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on March 5th, 2026. He was born in Dover, New Jersey on July 14th, 1943, son of the late George Ferdinand Nyman and the late Clare Ann. O'Toole Nyman. He was a United States Army M.P. Veteran.

Robert loved long walks in the woods, "puttering" around the house, a cold Coke, and some chocolate.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years: NamYon Choi Nyman; children: Brant Nyman and his wife Stacey and Selena Smith and her husband Bob; grandchildren: Clare Smith Melton and her husband Will, Emma Smith, Lily Smith, Grace Nyman, Reed Nyman; great-grandchild: Willy Melton.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Clare Nyman.

The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Sunday, March 8th, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Mallory officiating.
