Ronnie David
Martin
Jun 9, 1948 — Nov 25, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronnie David Martin, who departed this life on November 25, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on June 9, 1948, in Trion, Georgia, Ronnie embraced life with a spirit of dedication and service that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
After graduating from high school, Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of honor and commitment that would follow him throughout his life. Upon returning to civilian life, he began a remarkable 46-year career with AT&T, including 42 years as a dedicated supervisor in the telecommunications industry. His colleagues will remember him not only for his professional excellence but also for his supportive and caring nature.
Ronnie was an active member of the American Legion Post #143, where he served as chaplain and financial officer. His commitment to veterans in the West Georgia community was profound; he often volunteered his time to assist fellow veterans, driving them to medical appointments and offering steadfast support through his involvement with the Trinka Davis Veterans Village. He believed in the importance of giving back, and his efforts left a lasting impact.
A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Ronnie cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maggie Carter Martin; his children and their spouses, Carrie & Kevin Brueher, Morgan Martin & Dustin Woodard, Skip & Sheena Martin, and Skye & Kasey Martin; and his grandchildren, Peyton Brueher, Cade Brueher, Kinzley Daniels, Maggie Klaire Martin, and Baileigh Kidd. He also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Janet Kelley and Joanne Ring.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Martin; his mother, Lena Brown Martin; and his sister, Sherry Renfrew.
Ronnie was a loyal member of Eastside Baptist Church, where he found strength and community. In his free time, he took great pride in his lawn, often seen riding his lawnmower with a smile that mirrored his love for life. Ronnie's love for his family, his faith in God, and his passion for animals are cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A funeral service to honor Ronnie's remarkable life will take place at Eastside Baptist Church on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Gary Brown officiating and Skip Martin providing the eulogy. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. Friends, family, and all who knew him are invited to join in celebrating a man whose life was dedicated to service, family, and faith.
Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. Roger Young, Dennis Akin, Mitch Cheatwood, Stan Pethel, Steve Fuller, and Jobre Stringer will serve as pallbearers. The American Legion Post #143 will render military honors and be seated as honorary pallbearers.
Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Martin family during this time.
