Obituary

Roy Larry Hendrix, age 82, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Born on August 6, 1943, in Carroll County, Larry was the cherished son of Sanford Hendrix and Mildred Smith Farr.

Larry was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family. As co-owner of Custom Vending, he built more than a business—he built relationships, earned respect, and left a legacy of hard work and integrity. But his proudest role was that of father to three beloved children.

In retirement, Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially hunting and fishing with his brothers, Gerald and Cleve. Those moments in nature, filled with laughter and shared stories, were among his happiest. A devoted member of Salem Baptist Church, Larry lived his faith not just in words, but in the way he treated others—with humility and grace.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather, and a loyal brother whose presence brought comfort and joy. Larry's warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though he has left this world, the love he gave and the life he lived will continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sybil Holcomb Hendrix; his children, Alan Hendrix and his wife, Debbie; Kim Winters and her husband, Kevin; and Matt Hendrix and his wife, Debbe. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cole Hendrix and his wife, Rose; Rachel Hendrix; Erin Winters; Morgan Winters; Taylor Hendrix and her husband, Taylor Minish; and Ethan Hendrix. Additionally, he leaves behind his sisters, Darlene Brown and her husband, Bobby, and Judy Odom; as well as his brothers, Gerald Hendrix and his wife, Gail, and Cleve Hendrix.

Larry was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Renee Hendrix.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Larry's life on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Cecil Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Taylor Minish, Tanner Drennan, Mauricio Correal, Trey Olvey, Shannon Olvey, and Buck Norton will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
