Mr. Russell Turner, Jr., age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. He was born November 8, 1932 in Bibb County, Georgia. He was a Veteran and was a civil engineer and retired with 32 years of service from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Bearden Turner, many friends and adopted Bearden family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Turner, Sr. and Hazel Brown Turner. The funeral will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Bearden Lane Church of Christ in Douglasville, Georgia, with Minister Mike Daniel and Minister Robert Bearden officiating. Mr. Turner will lie in state beginning at 10:00a.m. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:00p.m until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
