Ruth Abney Decarlo, age 87 of Villa Rica, passed away December 24, 2016. She was born February 16, 1929 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Albert Cain and Ozella Pruitt Cain. She worked as a teller/customer service representative and retired in 1991 from Sun Trust Bank. She attended Midway Church in Sand Hill where she served in the office and visited with senior groups. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Lacey of Hiram; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Rhonda Abney of Villa Rica; four grandchildren, Marty Hull, Kristen Abney, Jesse Abney, and Josie Abney; one step grandchild, Colton Whiting; and one great grandchild, Skylar Abney. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jeff Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Steadman Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa. Those serving as pallbearers will be Colton Whiting, Brandon Edwards, Charles Towne, Herb Keeler, James Hughes, and Marty Hull.
