Samuel Charles Hancock, age 74 of Woodland, Alabama, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born August 7, 1950 in Floyd Pond, North Carolina, son of the late Harry and Sally Hancock. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Broughton Brown, Jr.; first wife, Linda Griffith; sisters, Joyce Martin, Hazel Ferman, Helen Gaskin and Diane Hancock; and brothers, Robert Hancock, Homer Hancock, Billy Hancock, Carl Hancock, and Harry Hancock, Jr.

Survivors include his children Tiffany (Matthew) Tucker, Sean (Rachel) Brown, Heather (Luke) Woody, Samuel Paul (Krystal) Hancock and Ashley Hancock; his second wife, Cathy Hamby; sisters, Louis Futrell and Linda Vasil; brother, Bobby Hancock; grandchildren, Mason (Allison) Tucker, Timmy Henderson, Rachel Woody (Jordan Oaks), Luke (Breanna) Woody, Jr., Steffany Woody (Lane Keaton), Latricia Hancock, Gabriel Hancock, Kourtney Hancock, Seth Hancock, Austin Hancock, Samuel Hancock, Christopher Brown, James "Richie" Brown and Autumn Brown; and great grandchildren, Braxton Oaks, Lynnleigh Oaks, Lincoln Oaks, Copelan Woody, Huntley Woody, Curtis "Bo" Keaton, Willow Keaton, Ivey Keaton and Jaxton Brown.

The family will schedule a Memorial Service at a later date to celebrate the life of Samuel Charles Hancock.
