Obituary

Sandra Deese Ballentine Pierce, age 69, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026.

Born on October 16, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia, Sandra was the daughter of the late Hugh Deese and Jennavie Brown Deese. She was a proud graduate of Bowdon High School's Class of 1974 and later earned her associate's degree from Carroll Technical Institute. Sandra built a successful career as a paralegal with Southwire, where she was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic.

While Sandra took pride in her career, her greatest joy came from her family and the life she built around them. She had a gift for making things beautiful, whether she was working in her yard, planting flowers, or tending to the outdoor spaces she loved so much. Sandra enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt. She also loved getting dressed up, fixing her hair, and looking her best, bringing a touch of style and confidence wherever she went.

More than anything, Sandra loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching her family grow. Through her wisdom, strength, and example, she taught them countless lessons about life, hard work, and perseverance. The memories they shared and the values she passed down will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Sandra also treasured the memories of her childhood growing up with her brothers and sisters. She loved sharing stories from those years and often reflected on the adventures, laughter, and special moments they experienced together. Among those relationships, none was more cherished than the lifelong bond she shared with her twin sister, Sarah Deese. Their connection was one built on a lifetime of love, friendship, and understanding that remained close to Sandra's heart.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Pierce; her children, Chad and Cynthia Ballentine, Kelly Ballentine, Glenn Pierce, and Brandy Fokken; her brother, Stanley Deese; her sister-in-law, Angie Deese; her six grandchildren, C.J. McMahan, Lindsey Pierce, Taylor Ballentine Boyd (Jeremiah Boyd), Connor Costello, Gunner Fokken, and Caden Costello; her six great-grandchildren, including Miah Boyd, Nevaeh Boyd, and Casen Boyd; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Ballentine; her son, Casey Ballentine; her twin sister, Sarah Deese; her brother, Steve Deese; and her sister-in-law, Tammy Deese.

Sandra will be remembered for her love of family, her beautiful flowers, her unmistakable sense of style, and the kindness and wisdom she shared with those around her. Her life was a testament to the importance of family, and her legacy will live on in the generations she helped shape and the many lives she touched.
