Ms. Sara Steadham Chance, age 91, of Carrollton, passed away, Monday April 2, 2007 at Tanner Medical and has gone to be with her heavenly father and the other angels. She was born July 22, 1915 in Carroll County to the late John A Steadham and Eva Jordan Steadham. She was preceded in the death by her parents an infant son John Steadham; sister Mary Steadham Ward; brothers Wilton Steadham, Roy Steadham, Johnny Steadham and Lewis Steadham. She is survived by a son Jerry M. Chance of Bremen; daughter and son in-law Connie Chance Hilaman and George Hilaman and granddaughter Hali Hilaman of Carrollton; two grandsons and one great grandchild; sister Emily Steadham Roberson of Villa Rica; on sister in law Margaret Steadham of Texas and a number of nieces and nephews. She was of Baptist Faith. After having been a long time employee of Sewell Mfg. Co., she graduated from Carroll Tech's practical nursing program in 1968 and worked in a nursing home and at Tanner Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday April 4, 2007 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Woodrow Hudson officiating. Music will be rendered by Brian Vaughn. Interment will follow in the Jordan Cemetery. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
