Sharon Joan Griffis Thornton, age 73, of Carrollton, passed away on December 7, 2024, at a local healthcare facility. She was born in Carrollton on October 23, 1951, the daughter of the late Harold Griffis and Mary Lee Bradley Griffis.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Shane Roger Thornton.

Survivors include her significant other, Johnny Griffis; daughters, Elisa Wessinger (Charles) of Carrollton, and Angela Hannah (Jimmy) of Franklin; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home.
