Mr. Shirley "Pat" Patterson, age 71, of Banning Rd., Whitesburg, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007. He was born August 21, 1935, in Carroll County, Georgia, to the late Lois M. Thompson Patterson and the late Prince A. Patterson. Mr. Patterson was retired from Shaw Industries after 16 years of service and a member of Tabernacle of Praise in Lagrange, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Hazel L. Patterson; his children and their spouses, Wayne & Elaine Richards of Clem, Bill & Kay Combs of Whitesburg, Clipper & Ann Henderson of Carrollton, Keith :& Joy Harper of Bremen and Kerry & Kimberly Patterson of Whitesburg; four sisters, Burnice Cochran of Sargent, Barbara Gentry of Bowdon Junction, Linda Clark of Whitesburg, and Faye Hite of Shenandoah; five brothers, Larry Patterson of Franklin, Johnny Patterson of Mt. Zion, Billy Patterson of Newnan, Terry Patterson of Arnco and Roy Patterson of Sargent; also, 12 grand children and four great grand children. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 12 noon from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Tina Lashley officiating. Pall bearers will be Jamey Richards, Brandon Henderson , Eric Henderson, Bobby Harper, Eddie Harper, Clint Cronan and Shane Combs. Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Banning.
