Mr. Stephen Jerry Vance, Sr., age 64, of River Walk, Douglasville, Ga., passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007. He was born January 6, 1943 in Carroll County, Ga., to the late Myrta Lou Copeland Vance and John Thomas Vance. Mr. Vance was a machinist having worked for Amoco Fabrics and Fibers and St. Regis Paper Company and also a member of Midway Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Donna Lynn & Michael Stallard and Stephen Jerry & Elizabeth Vance, Jr., all of Douglasville; two step-children, Gidgette Coker and Troy Coker, both of Villa Rica, GA; two brothers and sisters in-law, David Campbell & Donna Copeland of Layton, Utah and Michael Harold & Brenda Vance of Bowdon, Ga.; six grand children, Bryant Bradley, Brandon Ray Vance, Taylor Elizabeth Vance, Ashley Nicole Vance, Stephanie Leigh Vance and Candice Coker; also three great grand children. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 23, 2007 at 3 PM from Midway Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Roper and Rev. Dan McPherson officiating. Pall bearers will be Michael Stallard, Eddie Chastain, Earl Ridings, Bryant Bradley, Scott Goss and Brandon Vance. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
