Obituary

Steve Randall Williamson, 69, of Carrollton, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was born in Carrollton on April 25, 1955, to the late Marvin Williamson and Ruby Entrekin Williams.

Steve was a proud graduate of Carrollton High School, where he excelled academically and shone as an exceptional football player. Despite receiving a coveted football scholarship to continue his education, Steve made the commendable decision to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force. Following his service there, he transitioned to the United States Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged after demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment to his duties.

A true patriot, Steve's love for his country was palpable. Residents of Carrollton often recognized him during his long runs through the community, as he proudly carried the American flag, symbolizing his deep-seated pride and commitment to his nation. Alongside his patriotism, Steve was equally devoted to his faith. He held a profound love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was known as one of God's warriors. He shared the gospel with anyone he encountered, unashamedly proclaiming his beliefs.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, David James Williamson, who will be fondly remembered.

He is survived by his loving family, including his brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Rhonda Williamson; his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly Fernander and John Cash; his sister, Terri Williams; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory dearly.

Following Steve's wishes, his body will be cremated, and his ashes will be laid to rest alongside his father in the Carrollton City Cemetery. A heartfelt graveside service will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 4:30 PM, where family and friends can gather to honor his life.

Before proceeding to the graveside service, the family will welcome friends and loved ones at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
