Sybil Mae
Lyle
Aug 10, 1936 — Jul 23, 2025
Mrs. Sybil Mae Lyle, age 88, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was born on August 10, 1936, in Waco, Georgia, the beloved daughter of the late Robert Jackson Parker and Mae Smith Parker.
Sybil dedicated many years of her life to the textile industry, working at Turner Manufacturing and The Hubbard Company in Bremen. Following the birth of her fourth child, she lovingly embraced the role of a full-time homemaker. She found fulfillment in caring for her home and took pride in even the simplest of tasks—especially ironing and keeping a tidy house. A gifted gardener, she also enjoyed working in her yard and relaxing with a good word search puzzle.
A woman of deep faith, Sybil was a devoted member of Lowell United Methodist Church for many years. Her warm presence, gentle spirit, and steadfast commitment to her family and faith were evident in all she did. Even as her health declined, her love for her church never wavered.
In addition to her parents, Sybil was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Winton Lyle; her daughter, Judy Lyle; and her siblings: Raymond "Buck" Parker, Gloria Braswell, Lucille Morgan, Betty Sailors, Claude Parker, Ray Parker, and Faye Naile.
She is survived by her loving children: Wanda Lyle Piwko and her husband, David Piwko; Tony Lyle; and Pennie Lyle Garrett and her husband, John Garrett. She also leaves behind her cherished grandson, Quinton Garrett, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember her with love.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Sybil's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed McGory officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Tony Lyle, Quinton Garrett, David Piwko, John Garrett, Mike Lyle, Jeffrey Garrett, Glenn Lyle, and Dwayne Hicks. A private interment will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens.
