Thomas Hampton "Hamp" Rowe, age 82, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Thomas lived a life marked by service to his country, his community, and the family he loved so dearly.

Thomas was born on October 20, 1943, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Spencer James Rowe and Opal Christine Cash Rowe. A proud patriot, he dedicated 23 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Army, retiring with the distinguished rank of Sergeant Major. His commitment to service continued long after his military retirement as he embarked upon a dedicated and distinguished career in law enforcement, including service with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office. Throughout both careers, Thomas exemplified the values of duty, integrity, leadership, and service to others.

Thomas was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Above all, however, he treasured his family and the life they shared together. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, service, and devotion that will continue through the generations of his family.

He is survived by his beloved children, Anita Chambers; Thomas Rowe Jr. and his wife, Carey Roberts-Rowe; and Tina Edwards and her husband, Christopher Edwards; grandchildren, Jimmy Tetterton and his wife, Amanda, Chase Haley, Spencer James Rowe, Charlee Grace Rowe, Lauran Marlow, Nathan Marlow, Emmett Marlow, and Jake Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Hope, Peyton, and Reagan Tetterton.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Lee Rowe; his granddaughter, Kristy Lee Sexton; and his sister, Gloria June Rowe.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Thomas will lie in state at the church from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.

Spence Rowe, Jacob Edwards, Jimmy Tetterton, Emmett Marlow, Chase Haley, and Nathan Marlow will serve as pallbearers.

Following the service, Thomas will be laid to rest in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In recognition of his honorable and faithful service to our country, American Legion Post #143 will render military honors at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
