Mr. Wayne Jerale Perry, age 90, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Wayne built a life rooted in family, faith, and the community he was proud to call home.

Born on March 11, 1936, in Carrollton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Merlin Perry and Mae Weathington Perry. A lifelong resident of Carrollton, Wayne built a life rooted in family, faith, and the community he was proud to call home.

Wayne enjoyed a long and rewarding career as an insurance agent with Liberty National, where he served his clients for 33 years. Throughout those years, he formed lasting relationships and friendships with countless individuals and families across the community.

A member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Wayne's faith remained an important part of his life. He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed cheering on the Carrollton Trojans, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a longtime admirer of John Wayne and his classic Western films. Whether enjoying a round of golf, watching a ballgame, or spending time with family and friends, Wayne found happiness in life's simple pleasures and the people with whom he shared them.

Throughout his 90 years, Wayne was blessed with a lifetime of memories and relationships that will continue to be treasured by those who knew and loved him. His passing leaves behind a family who will carry forward the memories of a life well lived and the special place he held in their hearts.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Smith Perry, and his brother, Render Perry.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Mark Perry and Matt and Crystal Perry; his stepsons and their wives, Kevin and Griselle King, Allen and Sharon King, and Robbie and Gina King; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with Pastor Shane Roberson and Pastor John Pennington officiating. His body will be placed in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens, with family members serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
