Whitney Victoria Gassaway, age 36, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Whitney was born December 29, 1989, in Austell, Georgia, and was the beloved daughter of Russell and Evelyn Gassaway.

Whitney will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Russell Gassaway and Evelyn Gassaway; her sister, Elizabeth Gassaway; her brother, Allen Gassaway; sister-in-law, Tori Gassaway; grandfathers, James Mark Gray and Thomas Rudolph Hensley; and many other loving family members. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Whitney was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Allen Gassaway; her grandmothers, Elizabeth Ann Gassaway Gray, Sandra Jeanne Campbell Gassaway, and Cathy Lynn Hensley; her uncle, Richard McPherson Gassaway.

Funeral services for Whitney will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from The Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continuing until the service hour. Mr. Steven Anderson will provide the eulogy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Pence, Steven Anderson, Jason Anderson, Chase Terry, Colby Taylor, and Allen Gassaway.

Interment will follow the service at Hollywood Cemetery.

Whitney's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
