Willene Bates
Robinson
Sep 17, 1933 — Apr 3, 2026
Mrs. Mary Willene Bates Robinson, age 92, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026.
Mrs. Robinson, lovingly known as "Miss Willene," was born September 17, 1933, in Waco, Georgia, the daughter of the late Tryon Harvey Bates and Mary Lucille Langley Bates.
Mrs. Willene dedicated over 40 years of her life working as a seamstress for Hubbard's, where her skill and attention to detail reflected the same care she showed in every part of her life. She was a faithful and devoted member of Harmony Baptist Church, where she selflessly served in the nursery for over 50 years, ensuring that young families could worship together—a ministry that touched countless lives.
She was well known for her love of cooking and hospitality. Mrs. Willene was especially famous for her pecan pies and red velvet cakes, but more than anything, she will be remembered for the love she poured into every meal she prepared and every person she cared for.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Mr. Calvin Robinson; her son, Wendell Robinson; her grandson, Kevin Robinson; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Robinson and Breanna Greene; and her great-great-grandchildren, Sage Cassidy and Niko Cassidy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Stanley Robinson; her daughter-in-law, Donna Spiva Robinson; and her brothers, Winford Bates and Marvin Bates.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Anthony Puckett and Rev. Randall Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Vic Folds, Danny Terry, Chris Lanning, John A. Cramer, Joe Gramling, and Kody Lanning. Honorary pallbearers will be John R. Cramer, Shelley Sweat, and William Driver.
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
