William Bill Thomas Nunis, Jr. of Bremen passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Heard County, May 6, 1933, son of the late William Thomas Nunis, Sr. and Alice Daniel Nunis. Mr. Nunis was the executive director of the Haralson County Chamber of Commerce, past executive director of Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and past city administrator for the City of Bowdon. He was a member of the Bowdon Baptist Church, the Breakfast Club, the Liars Club and a member of the Bowdon Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Ann Roberson Nunis of Bremen; children, Mark Thomas and Jean Nunis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Marty and Cheryl Nunis of Tallapoosa, Craig Nunis of Pensacola, FL, Lari and Dr. Danny Williams, Carrollton; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister, Chestine Wiggins of Carrollton and a brother, Johnny Nunis of LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Services will be Wednesday, December 23 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Wesley Forrister officiating. Marty Nunis, Craig Nunis, Mark Nunis, Ian Lyle, Danny Procter and Dwayne Noles will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Breakfast Club and the Liars Club. Masonic services will be presented by the Bowdon Masonic Lodge. Haralson County Veterans Association will present the Military Honors. Interment will follow in Bowdon City Cemetery.
