Obituary

William Earl "Butch" Dix, Jr, age 62, of Heflin, Alabama took his first breath in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 3, 1964, and his first breath in heaven on July 27, 2026. He was the son of the late William Earl Dix, Sr and the late Frances Patricia Watkins Dix.

Butch was the devoted husband of his beloved wife, Tina, for 43 wonderful years. Together they built a beautiful family, raising three cherished children and welcoming five precious grandchildren into their lives. He loved his family fiercely and wholeheartedly and was a devoted husband, father, Pops, son, and brother. His family was the center of his world.

Butch was truly a man's man and a jack of all trades. He could build, fix, or create just about anything. Woodworking was one of his greatest passions, but helping others was what brought him the most joy. If someone was in need, Butch was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return.

He treasured every moment spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his life. His quick wit, warm smile, and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Above all, Butch was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of One Church. He never met a stranger and lived his life with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Though our hearts are broken and the emptiness left by his passing will always remain, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy of faith, love, compassion, and selflessness will live on in the lives he touched. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

He is survived by his wife: Tina Prichard Dix; children: Jessica DeBorde (Joe Santaguida), Jordan Thigpen (Jacob), Alexander Dix (Lizzie Bezdek); grandchildren: Aiden Thigpen, Aubree Thigpen, Avery Thigpen, Landon Dix, Shon Santaguida; sisters: Pamela Lee Dix, Ann Marie Dix Shipp.

The family will receive friends at One Church, 3701 US-27 N BUS, Buchanan, Ga 30113 on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

The memorial service will follow with Pastor Gene Fields officiating.
