Mr. William Dorsey Gilley, Sr., age 85, of Canterbury Dr., Carrollton, GA., passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006. He was born May 30, 1920, in Carroll County, GA., to the late Nellie Howard Gilley and Robert Gilley. Mr. Gilley was a retired Company representative having worked for Atlanta Gas Light for 30 years. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, a member of the DAV and a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Syble Sorrells Gilley; his children, Rebecca and Randy Dulaney of Dallas, GA., and William Jr., and Rhonda Gilley of Stone Mt, GA.; two sisters and a brother in-law, Opal Hunter of Bremen, GA., and Vivian and John Goatley of Louisville, KY.; a brother and sister -in law, Robert and Mary Gilley of Ukiah, CA.; five grandchildren, Laren, Nicholas and Brant Dulaney and David and Andrew Gilley; also a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 3 PM., from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Dr. Robert Allred officiating. Music will be provided by Mark Barnes. Interment will follow in Gilley Family Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, April 22, from 5 until 8 PM.
