Mr. William Henry Hunter, II, 85 of Wells Road, Buchanan passed away February 29, 2012. Mr. Hunter was born on October 11, 1926 in Fulton County, Georgia the son of the late Robert R. Hunter, Sr. and Clara Mae Kaiser Hunter. A retired telephone installer, Member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and Veteran of The United States Merchant Marines. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hunter and two sisters, Sara Grubbs and Betty James. Survivors include his wife, Anne Swygert Hunter of Buchanan; children, William & Stephanie Hunter, III of Pensacola, FL and Jane & David Spain of Newnan; step-children, Carolyn Blanton of Douglasville, Charles Edwards of Duluth, Wayne & Carol Edwards of Buchanan and Gail & Charles Blanton of Austell; sisters, Sue & Robbie Roberson of Kingsland, GA and Diane Guy of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Charles & Betty Jean Hunter of Middlebird,FL: grandchildren, Elliot and Logan Hunter; Step grandchildren Melissa & Patrick Agate, Jason & Lynn Blanton, John Edwards and Michael Blanton. And Five step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 2, between the hours of 4:30 & 8 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2012 at 11 am from Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Thomas Ward and Reverend Dave Cave officiating. Music will be provided by Buddy Gentry. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta at 4 pm.
