With broken hearts, the family of Zhailyn Royal Lainee Cathcart announces his passing on October 31, 2025, at the young age of 14. Born on June 2, 2011, in Carrollton, Georgia, Zhailyn was the beloved son of Kayla Justice Cathcart and Lajammeon Kiser Smith.

Zhailyn had a bright spirit, a loving heart, and a personality that could light up any room. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his sister, Leighona Eastling; maternal grandparents, Kristy "Granna" Cathcartt; paternal grandparents, James and Marilyn Smith; great-grandfather, William "Pop Pop" Cathcart; uncles, Christian Cathcart and Nijah Smith; aunt, Ivory Smith; great-uncles, Kevin Cathcart, Tiya Merrell, and Kelly Smith; and great-aunts, Kerri Smith, Tammi Smith, and Lisa Cathcart.

Zhailyn was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Judy Willis, and great-grandfather, Mitchell Willis.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Funeral Services for Zhailyn Royal Lainee Cathcart will follow at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Dr. Corky Addison officiating.

Though his time here was far too short, Zhailyn's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
