COMFORT COMES IN MANY FORMS

Meet Ruby & Olive

At Hightower Family Funeral Homes, we understand that sometimes comfort doesn't come from words. Sometimes it comes from a gentle presence, a wagging tail, or simply having a friend by your side.

Ruby and Olive are a special part of the care we provide to families. Whether offering a quiet moment of comfort during an arrangement conference or bringing a smile to someone during a difficult day, they remind us that even the smallest gestures can make a meaningful difference.

Ruby – Certified Therapy Dog

Ruby is an Australian Labradoodle who became a certified therapy dog through Ultimate Canine in Westfield, Indiana, in July 2017. Since then, she has provided comfort and companionship to people of all ages during times of grief.

Upon request and subject to availability, Ruby may visit with families during arrangement conferences, visitations, and funeral services. Her training also includes visits to schools, retirement communities, and nursing homes.

Olive – Following in Ruby's Paw Prints

Olive is the newest addition to our therapy dog family. As she follows in Ruby's paw prints, Olive is learning how a gentle presence and a little companionship can bring comfort to those experiencing loss.

With Ruby helping show her the ropes, Olive represents the continuation of a special part of our commitment to caring for families.

Olive is currently in training, with graduation scheduled for December 2, 2026.
